American Shooter Inaugural
Coming soon from American Shooter: the highest quality personal instruction in firearms, firearm sport, and self-defense. Most firearms instruction is conducted by prior armed professionals and gun enthusiasts with narrow firearms experience and little expertise in how to teach. AS is different. At American Shooter, your instructor provides you personalized lessons with a focus on good education, teaching you in the way best suited to you, and on your personal goal. The mission of AS is to make safe and effective gun handling as natural and comfortable for you as if you had grown up around guns, whether you just want to learn to defend yourself in the short term, you want to become a part of the American shooting tradition in the long term, or both.
Your instructor is William Collier, a former military flight instructor and a life-long shooter with experience across a wide range of disciplines over the past 25 years. This experience includes:
- traditional precision marksmanship—including small bore, high power rifle, long range, and even air rifle competition, as well as small game, large game, and dangerous game hunting
- wing-shooting—including trap and skeet as well as migratory and upland gamebird hunting
- combat/defensive shooting—including action pistol and rifle competition and defensive and combat firearms use.
While others come from specific professional or competition backgrounds (and usually with biases toward a particular kind of shooting), William’s background is as one who grew up shooting and understands the common principles that underlie all good shooting and gun ownership. His focus is on new shooters, and on teaching each student in the best way possible to get that student to his or her goal quickly while laying the foundations in the student of a life-long American Shooter.
